Los dueños de este restaurante son 4 amigos provenientes de Aruba, Países Bajos, Perú y Venezuela, que continuamente se reunían alrededor de una parrilla a recrear los sabores y olores de su infancia. Decidieron con la creación de este restaurante combinar sus distintas herencias culinarias y usar el fuego como su ingrediente principal.
AZAR, tiene muchos significados, significa "fuego" en persa, y "oportunidad", "suerte" o "destino" en español, pero también se asemeja a la fonética del verbo en español "asar".
Inspirados por el concepto de ASAR donde el fuego, la brasa, el carbón y el humo son protagonistas, se escogió una paleta de colores que degrada desde los colores rojizos hasta el amarillo y son contrastados por los colores gris y negro. Materiales naturales como el ladrillo crudo, la pizarra, y diferentes tipos de madera son utilizados en el mobiliario, en los revestimientos y en paneles descolgados del techo a manera de nave central, contrastando con mallas metálicas expandidas propias de los bbq y un piso de cemento pulido a dos colores delimitado por dilatadores en bronce. Apliques verticales revisten las paredes del volumen destinado para los baños y una instalación de sogas que simulan la vivacidad del fuego, se convierten en puntos focales de iluminación para el espacio.

The owners of this restaurant are 4 friends from Aruba, the Netherlands, Peru and Venezuela, who continuously gathered around a grill to recreate the flavors and smells of their childhood. They decided with the creation of this restaurant to combine their different culinary heritages and use fire as their main ingredient. AZAR, has many meanings, meaning "fire" in Persian, and "opportunity", "luck" or "destiny" in Spanish, but it also resembles the phonetics of the verb in Spanish "asar".
Inspired by the concept of ASAR where fire, embers, charcoal and smoke are the protagonists, a color palette was chosen that degrades from reddish colors to yellow and are contrasted by gray and black colors. Natural materials such as raw brick, slate, and different types of wood are used in the furniture, in the cladding and in panels hanging from the ceiling as a central nave, contrasting with expanded metal meshes typical of bbqs and a polished cement floor in two colors delimited by bronze dilators. Vertical wall lamps cover the walls of the volume intended for the bathrooms and an installation of ropes that simulate the liveliness of fire, become focal points of illumination for the space.
